Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (9 oz) cheese tortellini
- 1 lb sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add the cheese tortellini to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions (about 3-5 minutes) until they float to the top and are tender.
- Drain the tortellini in a colander, reserving about 1/2 cup of the pasta water for later use.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the thinly sliced sirloin steak, season with salt and pepper, and cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onion, green bell pepper, and mushrooms. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender and the onions are translucent.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Return the cooked steak to the skillet, add Worcestershire sauce, and mix everything together. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Lower the heat to medium and add the cooked tortellini to the skillet. Gently toss to combine.
- If the mixture seems dry, add reserved pasta water, a tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
- Sprinkle provolone cheese over the top, cover the skillet, and cook for about 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
