Enjoy a flavorful Honey Garlic Steak Rotini featuring tender flank steak, rotini pasta, and vibrant vegetables, all coated in a sweet-savory sauce. This easy-to-make dish is perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions, delivering a delicious and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound of flank steak
  • 8 ounces of rotini pasta
  • 1/4 cup of honey
  • 1/4 cup of soy sauce
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1 cup of broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup of sliced bell peppers (any color)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes (if using). Whisk until well blended. Place flank steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish, pour marinade over it, seal, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add rotini pasta and cook according to package instructions (8-10 minutes). In the last 2 minutes, add broccoli florets and sliced bell peppers. Drain and set aside without rinsing.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove steak from marinade, allowing excess to drip off (reserve marinade). Sear steak for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Remove from skillet and let rest for 5 minutes.
  4. In the same skillet, pour in the reserved marinade. Bring to a boil, scraping up browned bits from the pan. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Slice rested steak against the grain into thin strips. In a large bowl, combine cooked rotini, blanched broccoli, and bell peppers. Pour thickened sauce over and toss to coat. Add sliced steak on top and gently toss again.
  6. Transfer to a serving platter or individual bowls. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a more intense flavor, marinate the steak overnight.
  • Customize vegetables based on preference; zucchini, snap peas, or carrots work well.
  • For creaminess, stir in a splash of heavy cream or a dollop of sour cream before serving.
