Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 cup diced green bell pepper
- 1 cup diced onion
- 1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1/2 cup ranch dressing
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound to an even thickness of about 1/2 inch.
- In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Rub this seasoning blend all over the chicken breasts.
- In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and cover with aluminum foil to keep warm.
- In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms, diced green bell pepper, and diced onion. Sauté over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until tender.
- Stir in the crumbled bacon and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Drizzle ranch dressing over the mixture and stir to combine.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, nestling it into the vegetable and bacon mixture.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Carefully remove the skillet from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve hot with your favorite sides.
Notes
- Customize the toppings by adding jalapeños for a spicy kick or swapping out vegetables for your favorites.
- Ensure the chicken is cooked thoroughly for the best flavor and texture.
