Description

The Juicy Crack Burger Deluxe is a flavorful burger that combines a perfectly seared beef patty with a creamy homemade sauce and fresh toppings. This recipe is quick to prepare and is sure to impress at any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ lbs (680 g) ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard (yellow or Dijon)
  • 1 tbsp pickle juice (or relish)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns (preferably brioche)
  • 4 slices of American cheese (or your choice)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • ½ red onion, thinly sliced
  • Dill pickles (for topping)
  • Optional: hot sauce for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Using your hands, mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat. This should take about 1 minute. Overmixing can lead to tough burgers, so stop as soon as everything is evenly incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions (about 6 ounces each). With slightly damp hands, shape each portion into a patty, making a small indentation in the center. This helps the patties cook evenly and prevents them from puffing up while grilling. Set aside the patties on a plate.
  3. Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes. If using a skillet, add a teaspoon of oil to prevent sticking. The grill should be hot enough that you can only hold your hand above it for about 2 seconds.
  4. Place the patties on the grill or skillet, cooking for 4-5 minutes on the first side. You'll know they're ready to flip when they develop a nice sear and juices start to pool on the uncooked side.
  5. Flip the patties and immediately place a slice of cheese on each one. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Use a meat thermometer for accuracy.
  6. While the patties are cooking, prepare the Crack Sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
  7. Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the heat and let them rest for 2 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute within the meat, keeping your burgers juicy.
  8. Toast the burger buns on the grill for about 1 minute, or until golden brown. This step is optional but adds a delightful crunch and flavor.
  9. To assemble, spread a generous amount of Crack Sauce on the bottom bun. Place a patty with melted cheese on top, followed by shredded lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, and dill pickles. Top with the other half of the bun and enjoy your Juicy Crack Burger Deluxe!
